To find a voice
a poem about waterfalls
To find a voice
I jumped down the waterfall
and drowned. I don't know why
I jumped. It seemed like a good idea
at the time.
My body floated down the river leaving
my spirit free
to dissolve into a million droplets
of light
Colour and sound, mist and rainbows
I am more
alive when I completely surrender
and let go
I rage and roar, swish and swirl
between rocks
I find my long-lost voice within
the river
Reborn in calmer waters I hear
the silent songs
of animals, trees, rocks and water
crystal clear
words of beauty, love and belonging
find my heart
waiting to emerge as a voice
with soul
ready
to jump the next waterfall

This is so beautiful.
surprising and lovely. It's an interesting thing to think about finding one's voice in the river. This line is my favorite: to dissolve into a million droplets
of light
